Singer, songwriter, poet. Greg was handed down the music gene from his father, a bandleader from days gone bye. As soon as he was able to sing pro, he did. Fronting a hard-working gigging band called The Executives while still in his teens. He's been singing his own songs ever since performing in and around Chicago and the midwest for years. Greg's songwriting style ranges from hard edged rock to haunting ballads. His recording career is as interesting and illustrious as his on-stage one. He has recorded in world famous studios around the globe from A&M studios to Sun Records all the way to London's Abbey Road. His choice of musicians is first rate. For his first recording session over twenty years ago he enlisted the backing vocals of Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan of the Turtles, better known as Flo and Eddie. Greg has collaberated with many Chicago bands as well including a long and close association with Cheer Accident. The list of studios and musicians he's been associated with ever since would be worth a book in itself. His alliance with one of Chicago's most adept and well loved engineers, the late Phil Bonnet, was long standing.
Speaking of books, Greg's writing skills has not been limited to songwriting. He has published several books of poetry and on one instance, recorded an audio version enlisting the dramatic talents of Louise Robey, star of the 80's/90's t.v. show "Friday the Thirteenth"
In 1997 Greg went to NYC to collaborate on a project with Billy Name, the photographer/artist that Andy Warhol chose in the 60's to be his main photographer, and to give the famous Silver Factory it's silver look.
The project featured photos of Greg and was titled "Kronk".
A few years ago, Greg decided he would spend some time out of the clubs and dark studios and come out and play, of all places, on the tennis court. Another passion since childhood, Greg began playing in earnest again joined the USTA and competed in tournaments in the midwest. To be serious in competing in any sport, and especially tennis, one has to become quite single minded and seriously committed. Greg decided to put down the guitar and pick up the racket, for a while anyway. After running up the tournament ladder and satisfying his quest for athletic and personal achievement, he's back in the studio, back on the stage. His new musical works have all the substance and presence of his earlier work, but with a renewed sense of focus and edge. He has released three CDs in rapid succession and is going back into the studio soon to start on a fourth!
